Treatment and recovery
Two initial treatments are necessary, usually 4-6 weeks apart. The material is injected with a fine 30 gauge needle just below the epidermal surface. Generally, the area is overcorrected by 5-10%. Slight bruising may persist 24-48 hours. Cover-up makeup can be applied immediately. Absorption rates vary with each individual but re-treatment is usually necessary every four to six months for lip augmentation and six months to a year for frown lines, smile lines, crow’s feet and depressed scars.
