Using the Diolite 532 laser, vascular and pigmented lesions can be eliminated entirely or substantially minimized in a single treatment. The wave length specific beam of laser emitted light destroys oxyhemoglobin cells (red blood cells carrying oxygen) or melanin (black or brown pigment in the upper layer) causing elimination of unwanted discoloration while leaving the normal skin intact. The treatment is very effective against broken capillaries in the face (telangiectasia); freckles or brown age spots on the face, hands, or chest; dome shaped red lesions (cherry angiomas) and rosacea (red patches on the nose); persistent redness in scars.
Treatment and recovery
Using a hand piece, a “pencil thin” beam of light is directed at the specific area of treatment. In most cases, anesthesia is not required. A tingling “prickly” sensation is felt during treatment followed by redness for two to four hours (coverable by makeup). Broken capillaries (telangiectasia) are “air brushed” away immediately. For brown spots and raised vascular lesions, crusting will last ten to fourteen days before falling and leaving normal skin coloration.
