A series of botox injections will de-enervate the tiny muscles causing the deep expression lines of the face. This five minute painless procedure will soften the appearance of frown lines, laugh lines, neck cords, crow’s feet, and other dynamic wrinkles for at least three to six months. After treatment, the overlying skin is smoother and less wrinkled, while the untreated facial muscles function in a normal fashion.
Treatment and recovery
Using a micro-point needle, minuscule amounts of Botox are injected into the overactive muscles, causing the dynamic wrinkles in the forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet, neck cords etc. Within seven to fourteen days, the overlying skin will be smoother and have a more youthful appearance. The effects of the injection will last for three to six months. In rare instances, there can be slight drooping of the eyelids or facial asymmetry, but this temporary weakness recovers itself. Botox is not effective against wrinkles due to aging or sun damaged skin, nor will it tighten sagging skin. Oftentimes, dermolagen injections of filler material or light laser resurfacing can further soften the residual fine wrinkles.
