RESTYLANE "FILLER" MATERIAL

Restylane, an injectable hyaluronic gel, is an effective filler material for frown lines, forehead creases, smile lines, crow's feet and lipstick lines. Advantages over collagen are greater longevity and no need for pre-testing for skin sensitivity. It is also used for fine wrinkles, acne scars and lip border augmentation.

Treatment and Recovery

Two initial treatments are necessary, usually 4-6 weeks apart. The material is injected with a fine 30 gauge needle just below the epidermal surface. Generally, the area is overcorrected by 5-10%. Slight bruising may persist 24-48 hours. Cover-up makeup can be applied immediately. Absorption rates vary with each individual but re-treatment is usually necessary every four to six months for lip augmentation and six months to a year for frown lines, smile lines, crow's feet and depressed scars.
